Belonging
Belonging offers a safe, interactive, experiential approach to building joyful community, focusing strategically on improving group interactions and healing, as well as reducing pain of previous rejection. Belonging allows participants who may have experienced painful patterns of interaction or rejection to practice forming healthy attachments. A second level in the Life Model course series (either Forming or Restarting is a prerequisite), Belonging is for people who want to develop and strengthen their personal style of creating belonging and joyful community with those around them, whether at work, in church or in other areas of life.
In this 12-week class, you will learn what it means to comfort and quiet yourself when in distress, build appreciation with others, learn when to stop so that you don’t overwhelm others and hear God more clearly. In Belonging, you also will learn about discoveries in neuroscience that explain and resolve cravings, letting you return to a state of peace. The Belonging class entails a video series and small groups led by experienced coordinators to practice creating a sense of belonging for each other from week to week.
Ed Khouri, a pastoral counselor, ordained minister and co-founder of Equipping Hearts ministries, is the teacher, through a series of DVD teachings. In this class, Ed helps us to understand what Belonging means within the context of becoming a full participant in the family of God. His teachings include Bible stories, exercises, discussion, and times of interactive journaling with Immanuel to help us to better understand our identity in Christ and place in God's family.
The cost of the class is $65.00 and includes a class workbook.
