Certifications

Climb higher with us as we plan to offer three different certifications in 2025. We are finalizing the programs, but you can view each certification requirements below. If you’re interested in being updated on next steps, please fill out the interest form at the bottom. When we have a small group of people interested in each certification, we will begin. We will be learning as we go. Requirement may be tweaked along the way.

Spiritual Formation Coach

Prerequisites:

  1. Acceptance into the HCI Network, including a background check and recommendation from two people.

  2. Complete first year of Leadership Development: Forming, Listening for Heaven’s Sake, and Immanuel Approach Training

Qualifications:

  1. Teach Forming to at least two other people.

  2. Read Haley Barton’s Sacred Rhythms and complete the practice exercises at the end of each chapter. Journal about what you experienced as you practice. When we meet monthly, we will be sharing what we experienced.

  3. The last chapter of Sacred Rhythms is about creating a rule of life. This takes some time as you will have to discern which spiritual practices you want to make part of your regular rhythms. Practice your rule of life for six months and make adjustments as you go.

  4. Write a brief description of Lectio Divina that you could use to introduce the exercise to someone who is unfamiliar.

  5. Lease the exercise at Daily Connect at least five times.

  6. Notice what changes as you participate in this training. Spiritual formation is about making space for God in our lives. The changes we observe may not seem connected to the practices we are engaged with, but on further reflection we see a connection and we know that the fruit came from our intentionally making space to engage with God.

Relational Maturity Coach

Prerequisites:

  1. Acceptance into the HCI Network, including a background check and recommendation from two people.

  2. Complete two years of Leadership Development: Forming, Listening for Heaven’s Sake, Immanuel Approach Training and Maturity Modules.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be engaged in your own maturity recovery.

  2. Lead a small group of two to four people in the nine-week maturity program.

  3. Teach a lesson in Maturity Recovery to small group two-four people.

    • Help them choose appropriate deficit to target.

    • Help them create a plan for recovery of their chosen deficit.

    • Meet regularly with your group to share victories and defeats, and connect with the Lord for comfort and strength and wisdom.

HCI Prayer Minister

Prerequisites:

  1. Acceptance into the HCI Network, including a background check and recommendation from two people.

  2. Complete two years of Leadership Development: Forming, Listening for Heaven’s Sake, Immanuel Approach Training and Maturity Modules.

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrate Listening proficiency.

  2. Participate in at least 15 Immanuel practice sessions as a facilitator, recipient, and intercessor.

  3. Teach two people how to do Immanuel journaling.

  4. Demonstrate your proficiency in the Immanuel Approach by leading a demonstration session with someone who is new to the Immanuel Approach.
