We believe that next few decades can be the best years of your life! But it won’t happen if you drift along. Join Betsy Stalcup, Ph.D., founder and Executive Director of Healing Center International, Immanuel and HeartSync practitioner, and author of six workbooks and four memoirs, including Facing Life’s Losses, Immanuel Day, The Joy Starts Here Facilitator Workbook, and Living Relationally, for a five day-four night journey of reflection, epiphany, and renewal.
Our host and chef is Sara Orazi-Frau, HCI’s Project Manager who has hosted more than 15 retreats for small groups.
We have crafted our retreat for people in transition. The retreat came out of a conversation Betsy had with God when she realized her husband was fatally ill, and felt that her life would be diminished when he went to the Lord. God promised her that the next few decades would be more nourishing and satisfying than all of her previous years. She began to catch a vision of the glorious plans God has for people as they age, people in transition, particularly those considering a change in career or retirement.
Our transformational retreat will be a combination of questions and conversations, interspersed with time to rest, reflect and journal. Time to share in small groups and enjoy nature, the hot tub, the saltwater pool, and the lake. A few standup paddle boards are included in the rental.
This is a time for us to reflect on who we are, what we love and what the Father is calling us to in this new season, in a beautiful place surrounded by caring people.

Bumpass, VA at Lake Anna
We will be located at Vista Pointe Estate on the shore of Lake Anna in Bumpass, VA. This 2023 home sits on a point at the lake with a private salt water heated pool, an 8-person hot tub, game room and fire pit. This 10-bed, 7-bath home is only 1.5 hours south of DC. Linens and towels will be provided.

April 7th - April 11th (4-nights, 5 days)
Dinning:
Our wonderful Sara O. will prepare all our cuisine. Gluten-free and vegetarian options will be available if requested in advance. After you are registered, we will reach out to confirm your dietary restrictions, if any. We will do our best to accommodate. If you are gluten-free, vegan, or have food allergies, you may want to bring along a few of your favorite items.
Transportation:
You will be in charge of transportation to and from the lake house. However, we are happy to share your contact information, once your registration is approved, so you can coordinate rides.

April 8th-10th
Sessions will be a combination of conversations, reflections, journaling, small group sharing. Topics we are open to covering include:
What lies ahead?
Living a life of purpose.
Barriers—wounds, immaturity, distractions, fears.
What brings me life?
Where is God calling me?
What would be my next steps toward at satisfying, fulfilling life?

12:00 p.m. – 02:00 p.m. — Lunch and free time (enjoy the hot tub, swim, play games, journal by the lake, nap)

03:30 p.m. – 06:00 p.m. — Afternoon solitude, spiritual exercises, reflection, rest, journaling
06:00 p.m. – 07:30 p.m. — Dinner

Payment Information
Upon acceptance of your application, HCI will send you an invoice for the full amount, due upon receipt.
Pricing: $849
Please note — We have three room options: 1) Single room options with ensuite bathrooms 2) Single rooms with shared bathrooms; 3) Shared rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Opting for a shared room will grant you an extra 10% discount on the total price. We will do our best to accommodate your preference, but options are limited.

Four nights lodging
All meals and snacks, except for one dinner out

Price does not include:
Transportation
Beverages other than water, coffee and tea. Feel free to bring wine or other preferred beverages. Please no hard liquor.
Cancelation Policy:
Prior to February 1, 2025, if your plans change and you need to cancel, we will promptly issue you a refund minus a $50 administrative fee. After February 1, 2025, all bookings are non-refundable unless we can fill your spot. If we can fill your spot, we will issue you a refund minus a $100 administrative fee. If we cannot fill your spot, we will be happy to apply your payment towards a future retreat.
